A quick look back at 2012:
Winter and spring were busy with art for my first picture book, a sing-along book for preschoolers called One Little Owl published by Music Together, which comes out on Valentine’s Day 2013 (sweet!).
Over the summer I had the pleasure of creating illustrations for Rebecca Saxe’s Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at MIT. The Saxelab studies children’s social and linguistic development and they needed sequential “story panels” for testing preschoolers. Nice client, interesting project.
Also this summer–I received my first copies of the Chinese translations of my doodle book series with Buster Books. Now you can doodle in English, French, German, Spanish, and Chinese!
Fall brought in a slew of animals! Between October 1st and December 31st, the menagerie included 56 snakes, 33 lions, 25 frogs, 22 monkeys, 20 birds, 19 elephants, 17 hippos, 15 dogs, 15 rats, 14 foxes, 14 crocodiles, 13 guinea pigs, six cats, four sheep, three bats, two bees, and one cow (climbing a tree). Whew! All for workbooks for Helbling Verlagsgesellschaft in Austria.
I’m very thankful for such nice clients and fun projects and look forward to a busy 2013. I am also very appreciative of my blogging community–thank you, as always, for visiting!
