More fun with palindromes. . . and the answer is “he did, eh?”

Colour Collective: Warm Grey

I decided to paint an old sketch in honor of National Dog Day. My pup is a warm grey (when he’s clean). Happy Friday!

Ugly Fish Friday

Frogfish-UFF1

I love weird fish and was happy to discover the Spotted Frogfish when I was searching for something bright yellow for this week’s Colour Collective. Frogfish come in different colors and textures, including a Hairy Frogfish that is extremely bizarre. They are lousy swimmers but make up for it by using their fins to amble along the ocean floor. Ugly, but enterprising!

Illustration Friday: Yarn

For those who hate an itchy sweater–a character study I drew a while ago–a perfect fit for this week’s Illustration Friday! (click to enlarge).

Even when the skies are clear, the best days of summer often end with a maelstrom of hair woes.IF-tornado

My Nose was one of my favorite poems when I was little–I never knew the poet, but now thanks to Google I found her–Dorothy Keeley Aldis. You can find more of her poetry for children in her published collections: All Together: A Child’s Treasury of Verse New York : G.P. Putnam’s Sons, [1952],  Everything and Anything  New York: Minton, Balch & Company, [1927]; and  Favorite Poems of Dorothy Aldis  New York: G. P. Putnam’s Sons, [1970].
